McGeorge graduates enjoy record job placement rates

For the third year in a row, McGeorge School of Law鈥檚 graduates achieved one of the law school鈥檚 highest U.S. News job placement rates, Overall, 85% of graduates secured employment within 10 months of graduation, and 78.9% of graduates landed positions considered 鈥渂est jobs鈥 by U.S. News & World Report.
McGeorge's post-graduate employment has improved by more than 31.7% in the past five years.
鈥淲e could not be prouder of these graduates, who have shown remarkable strength, determination, and stamina through the last two years. Our graduates, in the middle of a pandemic, applied the tools and skills they gained at McGeorge to secure positions in a wide variety of practice areas where we know they will find personal and professional satisfaction,鈥 said , Assistant Dean for Career Development and External Relations at McGeorge.
The U.S. News 鈥渂est jobs鈥 data for Students of Color at McGeorge is even better. For the second consecutive year, McGeorge Students of Color secured the jobs at a greater rate than the four years prior. This year, more than 81.3% of the schools鈥 Students of Color secured U.S. News 鈥渂est jobs鈥 within 10 months of graduation.
79.1% of the Class of 2020 was employed in long-term, full-time positions that either required bar admission or were 鈥淛D-preferred鈥 within 10 months after graduation, according to information published in in March 2022. McGeorge ranked No. 6 in California for the number of 2020 graduates employed within 10 months of graduation, ranking higher than the University of San Diego School of Law, University of California, Hastings College of the Law, Chapman University Fowler School of Law, and Santa Clara University School of Law.
The law school credits its focus on practical training for its success. PreLaw Magazine ranked McGeorge among the top third of law schools in the country for in its Spring 2022 issue. This ranking is based on schools' practice-focused course offerings, such as clinics, externships, simulation courses, pro bono hours, and moot court participation. McGeorge offers more than 100 hands-on and is home to McGeorge ranks in the nation.
